GPA Requirements


What is the minimum GPA required for completing the IT major?

Currently, the minimum overall GPA required for graduation is 2.0.  Beginning with the Fall 2006 catalog year, the minimum GPA required within the major is 2.5 and minimum GPA overall is 2.0.

What is the maximum number of allowable D's within the program?

As of Fall 2004, there is no longer a maximum number of D's that a student can receive.  Academic status is based solely on the cumulative GPA.  In other words, a student must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.  A GPA of less than 2.0 could mean a warning, probation or suspension.  Please refer to pg. 38 of the 2005-2006 university catalog for GPA retention levels.

What is the minimum grade requirement for courses that are prerequisites for other courses?

Usually you need to obtain a grade of C or better for any undergraduate course that is a prerequisite for another course.  Please refer to page 31 of the 2005-2006 university catalog for more information on this.
