How to change your major.
Students must meet with an advisor at one of the AIT Department Offices and fill out a Change/Declaration of Major Form. The BSIT program is based at the Prince William Campus and our faculty offices are located there. All faculty members are advisors and have walk-in office hours to assist students. Faculty office hours can be found on our web site ait.gmu.edu

Catalog Year
- What is a "Catalog Year?"
- How do I find out what my "Catalog Year" is?
Visit Patriot Web and view:
Student Services and Financial Aid > Student Records > View Student Information > Select Current Semester > Check "Catalog Term."
- How do I change my "Catalog Year?"
You must fill out a Change of Major form at the AIT office, indicating that you want to change your catalog year only"
You can change you catalog year at anytime, however, you need to keep in mind that the requirements of each catalog year may be different. You will need to meet the requirements of the new catalog year if you change it. In addition, you may not change your catalog year to a year that is before the catalog year you were admitted to GMU. For example, if you were admitted during Fall 2004, you may not change your catalog year to Fall 2003. You may change it to Spring 2005 or later.
