Concentration CoursesStudents take at least 15 semester hours of IT concentration courses from four categories of courses according to the student’s selected concentration. Four courses must be from a designated list for the particular concentration plus one course from the list of any concentration. This fifth course can be in the same or a different area. A list of categories and courses in each category may be obtained from the department. You may declare your concentration anytime before graduation, however it is strongly advised that you declare a concentration before you graduate. Declaring your concentration earlier will enable you to make a more informed decision when choosing which courses to take. You may change your concentration as many times as you wish, however you will need to have completed all the required courses in your final declared concentration area before you are able to graduate. In addition, you will need to fill out the Change/ Declaration of Academic Program form and drop it off at either of the AIT offices each time you change your concentration. To declare a concentration area, you must fill out a "Change/ Declaration of Academic Program Form" and drop it off at one of the Applied Information Technology department offices. You may find departmental contact information by visiting the following link: http://ait.gmu.edu. NOTE: Some concentration areas are not available to students with a particular catalog year. You may choose a concentration area depending on your catalog year. Catalog Year
