Some IT Major required courses also satisfy General Education Requirements:
- IT 103 satisfies the requirement for Information Technology
- Either IT 304 or CS 305 satisfies the requirement for IT Ethics
- IT 492 satisfies the requirement for Synthesis
- The IT Major degree requires 12 credits of Mathematics: Math 108, Math 111, Math 125 and IT 250 (cross listed as Stat 250). This satisfies the General Education requirement in Quantitative Reasoning.
- The IT Major requires 11 credits of Natural Science
- 7 of which satisfy the General Education requirements.
- Eight (8) of these credits should be lab courses that form a sequence.
- The remaining General Education courses will include:
- 6 credits of Written Communication**
(English 101 and 302-Business or Natural Science Sections)
** Students must attain a minimum grade of C in composition courses to fulfill degree requirements.
- 3 credits of Literature
- 3 credits of Global Understanding
- 3 credits of Social/Behavioral Science
- 3 credits of US History
- 3 credits of Western Civilization
- 3 credits of Oral Communications
(COMM100 or COMM104),
- 3 credits of Fine Arts
(Note that BSIT majors are not exempt from the Fine Arts requirement.)
- 9 credits of general elective
