IT 103: Test Out

IT 103 is a class in Computer Science fundamentals, Internet and Web Page basics, office applications, and social and ethical issues related to computing. IT 103 satisfies the General Education requirement for IT Literacy.

Mason will accept the “Information Systems and Computer Applications” test offered by the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) with a credit-accepting score of 75%, i.e., 60/80. However, the CLEP does not give credit for the ethics component. You must take a 1-credit ethics course to complete the ethics requirement. You may take one of the following courses to receive credit for the ethics:
CS 105 (1cr), CS 305 (3cr), ENGR 107 (2cr), IT 304 (3cr) or PHIL 112 (1cr).

You can find a list of all Mason-approved CLEP Exams, or you can view general information about CLEP exams.
